KIPP Columbus had a strong foundation in place: a belief in the science of reading, a committed team, and a drive to do what works for kids. But they still faced a common challenge: how to turn belief into consistent, high-quality instruction in every classroom.
In the midst of rapid school growth and teacher onboarding, leaders recognized the need for more than just the right curriculum. They needed a way to help teachers deeply understand it and use it with fidelity every day. That meant building strong internalization routines, making data part of the instructional conversation, and creating space for teachers to learn from each other.
Lit partnered with KIPP Columbus to support a teacher-led HQIM pilot and follow it with ongoing professional learning focused on curriculum internalization and data-driven instruction. Three years later, the results are still holding and the teacher-led culture is thriving.
