Selecting high-quality instructional materials (HQIMs) isn’t just about checking external reviews. At Lit, we know that the most effective materials are the ones that align to the science of reading and work in your context, for your students, and are sustainable in your system.
That’s why we created this infographic: to support school and system leaders as they navigate the complex process of curriculum selection. It outlines the key questions we ask with partners about the materials themselves and the ecosystem needed to support their success. Because high-quality instruction doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens when the right materials are paired with aligned structures, strong leadership, and sustained support.
We ask these questions alongside teams as part of our Learn and Design programming. (You can read more about Learn and Design here.)
