Test & Decide Workshops

A Closer Look

With so many options—and so much on the line—how can you confidently select High-Quality Instructional Materials that are truly evidence-based and aligned to your goals? Lit’s Test & Decide simplifies the process. In a fast-paced, guided design sprint, we’ll help your team explore, test, and select materials to pilot in your district.

Designed for: Cross-functional teams working together to drive literacy outcomes and select curricular materials

We offer two ways to Test & Decide: at in-person events alongside other educators or custom workshops in your district (delivered face-to-face or virtually).

As a team, you will:

  • Unpack the principles and components of structured language and literacy and how they come to life in high-quality curricular materials during Lit-led professional learning
  • Leverage Lit’s criteria for high-quality instructional materials to craft your district’s shared criteria
  • Research and assess a curated list of potential high-quality instructional materials
  • Practice using curricula so that you and your team can experience its instructional approach from the perspective of a student, teacher, and instructional coach
  • Investigate the design and structure of your top curricula choice(s) at the module, unit, and lesson level
  • Decide on curricular materials that will best serve your learning community
